The Gum Grafting Process
Excellent clinician, caring doctor and a beautiful facility!! What else can you ask for? – Natalia T.
In a gum grafting procedure, Dr. Fotek can collect healthy gum tissue from one area of your mouth, typically from the palate, and transfer it to the treatment site, covering exposed tooth roots and restoring gum levels. Your newly grafted tissue integrates with the existing tissue to erase all traces of gum recession and form healthier gum lines. In some cases, it is more advisable to use an external source for grafting material, such as when two surgical sites are not recommended. We can still correct your gum recession with gum grafting.
Dr. Fotek simply uses AlloDerm®, a regenerative tissue matrix, in place of your own tissue. This lessens discomfort for you while still achieving excellent results. Healthy gum tissues protect your teeth from infection, damage, and decay. The barrier they provide is not only functional, but aesthetically pleasing. You cannot have a beautiful smile without healthy, attractive gum lines. Schedule a consultation with our periodontist in Palm Beach Gardens, FL to learn more.
